CreekWalk Coastal Kitchen

The homeowners loved their open floor plan but not the kitchen in the middle of it. Speckled brown granite, builder-grade cabinetry and flat lighting made the space feel heavy against the rich hardwood floors and vaulted living room around it. They wanted something calm and coastal that would feel at home in the rest of the house.

We handled the design and the build. At the center is a new island in CNC Concord Sydney cabinetry, finished in Adirondack Blue. It’s topped with 3cm Cosentino Silestone Calacatta Gold, whose soft gold veining warms up the cool blue base, and has an undermount sink. It seats four at woven-back counter stools and works as both the prep space and the gathering spot. Two clear glass pendants with natural rope accents hang overhead.

The range wall is the showpiece. A white tapered range hood sits between two Concord Sydney upper cabinets in Ale, a warm wood tone. Behind the professional-style gas range, Daltile Santorini tile runs up the wall; its glossy, handmade-look surface catches the light. Sleek White lowers with matte black knobs and pulls keep the wall bright and tie it to the rest of the kitchen.

The perimeter has full-height Concord Sydney cabinetry in Sleek White wrapped around a stainless refrigerator, plus a built-in drawer microwave so the counters stay clear. Just off the kitchen, a matching Sleek White beverage and coffee bar has glass-front uppers, open floating shelves and a black swing-arm sconce, carrying the design into the living room.

Calacatta Gold quartz, warm Ale wood tones, Adirondack Blue and the home’s original dark hardwood floors come together in a kitchen that feels relaxed and open but is built for everyday use.
